I had the pleasure of photographing Mike & Jen’s wedding the week before Christmas which meant I was going to be in for a treat as part of the reception was being held in Shapwick house so I was guaranteed a nice warm fire and a Christmas tree.
I first met the lovely couple at the end of November and was unsure if I’d make it to them as it had just snowed in Somerset. Well, I made it down ok but I couldn’t help thinking to myself how pretty the fields are with all the snow and frost, wouldn’t it be nice if it was like that for the big day?
So the weekend arrives and I set off from Birmingham on the Friday night, stopping over in Weston-Super-Mare, as the wedding was taking place not too far away. It had been snowing in Somerset all day and as I unpacked my car another snow flurry began. ‘Great!’ I thought I should get some stunning photos with the snow, however I woke up in the morning to have to dig about 10cm of snow off the car.
The wedding was a great joy and it was a picture perfect winter wonderland. Below are a few photos from the day.
